Well, I seem to be rarely here on DA nowadays...I keep meaning to submit new shots, keep meaning to write proper journals, but it never seems to happen.
It's a busy time right now, wedding season is underway, which takes a huge amount of time, and I've started submitting work to 500px as well as Google+
I'm quite impressed with Google+. I'm not going to write about it's pros and cons, they've already been well documented by so many other photographers, but I will say that it's a great place to keep up with what other photographers are doing. It's a great place to see other people's work and get in touch with people, and images look great there. I like the way it works, so if you're on there, look me up and I'll add you to my circle. Also, I've still got a couple of G+ invites left, so if anyone would like one, drop me a note.

Also, I was recently interviewed over at Fotoloco, so if anyone's interested, you can find that here.

So, again, apologies for a lack of activity here on DA, I will post stuff soon.....Honest.
Take care everyone, have a great weekend, and a great summer

Hope all is good with you
I am on google + but have never had a photo comment... I upload via picassa and click the share button with my 140 plus photographer circle..... am I doing any thing wrong??
David Haworth is how to find me!
I don't know why it's not working....it says you have nothing in your stream, so you haven't posted anything. The way to do it is to go to you stream (like the wall in Facebook) and post a status update, as you would in FB, with a picture...and that should go into your stream
Also the interview was an interesting read. You will definitely enjoy yourself in the Andes mountains, it looks like an incredible place. It's on the top of my list right now too.
I will continue to post images on DA....this is the place that started me off photographically, and I can't imagine not submitted stuff here...it's just that there are so many other things that take so much time.
You should join 500px though James, it's a nice place and overall, the quality of a images submitted there is very high. As for the ToS of Google+, it's no different to Facebook really.
Glad you liked the interview. The trip to the Andes has been talked about, planned, re-planned (we were originally going to try to include Patagonia as well, but it would make thing too rush. It would be like trying to do the Canadian Rockies, Oregon and Washington State, as well as the Grand Canyon, and the national parks in the southern States. Just too much). We're definitely doing a BIG trip in the fall of next year, but weather it this actual trip remains to be seen. We're both really keen on northern India (I'm starting to realise that I like shooting travel portraiture as much, if not more than, landscapes). It'll probably come down to weather in the places at the time.
I do have an account on facebook as you know but it is strictly a personal account and I never post my work on that site because of their TOS. The thing about facebook and G+ is that the wording is very open to interpretation. It basically gives them the option to use your images for whatever purpose they see fit, including sub licensing the images to their affiliated third parties. This is the part that I have a problem with.
Well put it this way a few years ago I took a trip driving from Texas and going through New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada then California. I spent 5 weeks and I just barely scratched the surface of what there was to see. I didn't even make it to the Grand Canyon. Salar de Uyuni is a massive area in itself and there is so much to see there, that I could not imagine spending less than a week in that area. Patagonia is another 2-3 weeks on its own as well.
You will definitely enjoy India since you like travel portraiture so much but to be honest, India is not really the place to go for landscapes.
How is the regional tourism project coming along? Are you still working on that?
