The power source on my laptop broke on Saturday afternoon, meaning I've got no computer at home until it's fixed....probably not till early next week (It happened when just about every Apple supplier in Lisbon has run out of stock of the cable I need).
My laptop is now dead as a doorstep, so I have no access to my photos and won't be able to submit anything until I've got it running again. Also, I can only check my dA account at work now, so I'm getting incredibly behind with messages and stuff. Please understand if I don't comment on people's work much this week.
I'll try to keep up with people's work and replying to messages..but I'm actually supposed to be working
Take care all

Hello everyone, hope youre having a great week.
First of all, thanks so much to everyone for the terrific response to my journal In Praise Of Imperfection last week, and the news article it later became
[link]
I appreciated the response and Im so glad that so many people related to it.
Not a lot to say this week, Ive been busy at work and with organizing my trip to the Amazon and North East Brazil at Christmas, but I did finally get some time to get out shooting last weekend and for two nights I had some wonderful light and skies.
Now summer is over, were finally starting to get some decent conditions to shoot in, after months of clear blue skies without a single cloud. Hopefully it will be a sign of things to come for the next 5 months or so, and Ill get out shooting more.
Im also really behind with my messages here in dA, so if youve faved a shot, added me to your watch list, or left a comment, please dont think me rude if I havent replied. I simply havent had time, but Ill try and get through the messages over the next week.
I appreciate all the support, take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Nikon D3
I'm slowly slowly saving up for one of these, but it's going to take me a while...at least until next year. If anyone's interested in some early reviews from professional photographers who've been given the chance to test one, I've linked a few below. The images are all JPEG and most are shot at very high ISO.

It looks,to be honest, like an incredible camera.

nilgunkara is someone whose gallery I came across a while ago. She works with the classic square format (much harder to do than it looks) and has some beautifully simple and elegant compositions.
Have a look at her breath-taking gallery
