Under A Morning Sky by AndyMumford Under A Morning Sky by AndyMumford
This is a shot from my trip to Umbria, Italy, last year.

It's the town of Preci, in the Sibillini National Park, taken around dawn as mist was streaming down the valley while the sun rose behind the mountain peaks above.

I'd like to say that it was hard work getting this image, some story about sleeping overnight in freezing conditions in an inaccessible outcrop of rock, perhaps after a 5 km hike up a mountain....but nah. I actually took this from right outside the front door of the cabin - I sat on the deck in one of the chairs, set the tripod up and took shots of the village being hidden and revealed by the swirling mist with a mug of steaming coffee in my hand. Then, after the sun had risen high enough to burn off the mist, I went back to bed :-)

Thanks Maria, and yes I do. The following day I was up at 4am, drove for 50 minutes up a mountain, parked in a village, then hiked for another 45 minutes up to the snowline at around 2000 meters to get this [link] and this [link]

Cheers matey. Currently trying to persuade my father in law that he should go to South Africa at Christmas...and take me and Teresa with him.
It's not working so far, but I'll let you know

Why S.A for christmas? :)

Well, my wife's family has a tradition of heading off on trips at Christmas (from when they all lived in S.America and had the same seasons as you in the southern hemisphere). But they're pretty old now, in their late 70s, so it's hard for them to walk anywhere. My father-in-law spent a lot of time in Africa (principally Mozambique and Angola) when he was younger as a geologist, and said he would love to go back to see the national parks again.
So, because he's not so mobile, I suggested he should go back, either to Maputo, and then head to one of the national parks in southern Mozambique, or go to S.A. and go to Kruger or something. Somewhere like that would be great, cos you can't get out of the cars anyway...he wouldn't need to walk, and I thought we could do a couple of days in Cape Town because my mother-in-law is more of a city person.
I don't know though....they are both the crappest people in the world at making a decision...and it will probably end up like last year where neither he nor his wife can make a decision (me and Teresa gave them loads of ideas, sent them loads of links and stuff), but they just said "Oh, I don't know" and then at Christmas "It's a pity we're not doing anything this year".
So, it'll probably be Portugal again....but I'll keep dropping hints for the next couple of months

Well I hope you guys can convince him to come :) Kruger is just hot as hell in December, but I guess Portugal is pretty much the same hey? :)
