My favourite location in Umbria, most of the photos I've submitted from the area were taken from down on that the plain you can see at the bottom of the shot here. A record shot really, there was no focal point to build the composition around, but a view that really left an impression on me nonetheless.
For this shot I woke at 5am, drove the 40km from our hotel, up the side of the mountain to the village of Castelluccio which is about 2000m above sea level. I parked the car and then had to hike from the plain up the side of the mountain to get this view before the sunrise. I was hoping for the entire plain to be filled with mist, but sadly the conditions never materialized. However, it was a wonderful morning watching clouds drift down the valley and swirl around the Sibillini peaks.

Oye there Andy! Another excellent shot! The composition (despite lacking a rock in the foreground. ) is excellent, and so are the colours and exposure. Truly a great shot.
And the amount of effort you put into physically getting the shots is impressive, too!
