Of all the photos I took in Umbria, and of the various ones I took in this location on different evenings, this is my favourite shot. Its less dramatic than the others, less colourful, but for a couple of reasons, I like this more than Sibilini or Godspeed.
It had rained most of the day, and we drove up to this high plain more in hope than in expectation. The rainclouds stubbornly refused to clear, never letting through a crack of sunlight, but around sunset, it did finally let off raining and I decided to see if I could get some shots. This was taken around 15 minutes after the (invisible) sun had set, and the wind was pushing the clouds across the plain at quite a speed.
The following evening I returned and got the light and colour I had hoped for, but after editing all the images from the trip, this is the one that I kept coming back to, and as I said above, became my favourite from Umbria.
This is a long exposure, with a 2 stop neutral density filter to balance the top half of the picture with it's reflection

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
