Godafoss by AndyMumford Godafoss by AndyMumford
After a 10 hour drive from south eastern Iceland through rain, snow, hail and sunshine, we finally arrived at Godafoss in the north. Sitting down to a well earned dinner, I saw that we were going to have a great sunset above the falls, so I ran the 10 minutes from the hotel to set up my tripod and camera.
It was a beautiful evening, and surprisingly I had the spot to myself. The only problem was the spray, but it was easy enough to shoot 2 second exposures.

oh, one more thing: do you have experience with the 105mm front adopter and the 105mm polarizers? How many slots does that thing allow without vignetting at 17mm?

Hey Andy, you're alive! :D
And you've been to Iceland! Looking forward for more! :excited:

(BTW, I'm just back from a 4 day trip from Plitvice Falls, Croatia and made the final decision to upgrade my Cokin P system to Lee/Z-pro filters for greater flexibility. I have a few practical questions on the system though and I know you are good at explaining things.

First, is the original lens cap attachable to the lens when the adopter ring is mounted?

Second: is it convenient or even possible to use a screw-in polariser between the lens and the adopter ring? I'm afraid you can't really screw on or off the adopter ring (esp. the wide one) with the rotating front element of the polarizers.

Third, that you've probably been asked a lot already: hard or soft GNDs? I think for DX I'll be opting for hard, as with Cokins I tend to prefer hards, but does it apply for FX too?

(FYI for wide angles I currently use a D90 with a 10-24 Nikkor with extensive use of a polarizer, even for ultrawides.)
