There's something calming about doing waterscapes, and in my time here on dA, and the short time I've been interested in photography, I've come to realise that it is what I like doing best.
This is a shot I took back in January, but I never submitted it because I was unhappy with the colour cast given to the sky by the ND graduated filter I used (I really need to invest in a better quality graduated filter system. If anyone can let me know what they think of Lee, Singh Ray or Cokin Z Pro grads, I'd be happy to hear). Anyway, over time the shot grew on me, perhaps because since then we've almost never had any interesting clouds in the sky when I've been to the ocean with my camera. Oh, and that is the moon you can see in the top of the photo. I used a 3 stop ND graduated filter to darken the sky, and I've polished it a little in Aperture (luminosity and white balance), and added vignetting and the frame in Photoshop CS. Taken between Carcavelos and Parede beaches (near where the fisherman is standing in this shot [link]), Portugal Nikon D80 | Sigma 10-20mm | Nikon cable release | Cokin P121S 5 second shutter | f18 | 10mm Post-processed in Aperture and PS CS |

now I will get a bit technical if you don't mind!!
I have been using the cokin P series filters my self!! I always wanted to change to Z but then decided to do some tests and came to the conclusions that the money is too much! I have a 12-24 wide angle lens and with the filters on in order to avoid vingeting I zoom up to 16mm which isn't that bad plus if I don't use an ND with the wide angle holder I don't get any vingetting at all!! Quality wise none is as good as a hoya but then again hoya makes only circulars to screw on the lens!!
I have a very useful method of removing the color cast that each camera has and I am more than willing to share it with you via a note if you are interested!!
